Eugene Crutcher Obituary
Delbert Eugene Crutcher, affectionately known as Eugene, and some of his buddies even called him Blue Jean or Gourd, passed away peacefully at 58 in Richmond, on May 29, 2025. Born to Delbert and Eliza Crutcher on August 26, 1966, in Berea, Eugene grew up surrounded by the love and strong family values that he would carry with him throughout his life.
Eugene is remembered as a devoted family man, treasuring the moments spent with his beloved wife, Mary Cruse Crutcher, his adored daughter, Samantha Crutcher, and his cherished children by marriage, Jasup Shepard and Hope Chadwell. Eugene's legacy of joy and laughter will live on through his grandchildren, Charity Shepard and Anniston Shepard. His parents, brother Doug (Dianna) Crutcher, sister Edie (Steve) Toothman, along with his nephews and nieces Landon (Destiny), Leigha, Jayvon, Senthia, and Christian (Katie), and great niece and nephew, Olivia and Easton, will forever hold dear the memories of Eugene's unwavering support and endless generosity.
As the sun rises over the rolling hills of his Kentucky home and sets on a life well-lived, Eugene's memory will continue to inspire us all to cherish those we love and to make the most of every single day. He left the world a better place, simply by being a part of it, and will be profoundly missed by many.
Funeral services will be at noon, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Lakes Funeral Home with Pastors Anthony Cruse, Tanner Cruse, and Artie Alexander officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home.
