Sandra Gail “Sandy” Alexander Whittemore

Sandra Gail “Sandy” Alexander Whittemore, 72, wife of Danny Whittemore, passed away Friday,
May 30, at Saint Joseph's in London. Sandy was born in 1952 to the late Willard and
Mable Scenters Alexander. Sandy loved going to church and was of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed her
birthday dinners with her sisters and brother, fixing big meals for the whole family, and she loved her
grandchildren dearly.
Other than her Parents, Sandy is preceded in Death by her brother Willard “Bug” Alexander, Jr.
Sandy is survived by her Husband, Danny Whittemore, two daughters, Angela (Thomas Lovell) Durham,
of Mount Vernon, Jennifer Whittemore Cates and her husband Chris, of Berea, one son, Shane
Whittemore and his wife, Crystal, are also of Berea. Seven Grandchildren, Daniel (Amber) Legg, Koty
(Faith) Benge, Tommy (Hayden), Benge, Jay, Durham, Arayah Durham, Maddy Whittemore, and Lily
Whittemore. Three Great Grandchildren, Idgie Benge, Charleigh Benge, Briggs Benge. Three siblings, Bill
Alexander and his Wife Frankie, Tina Abney and her Husband Lonnie, Pennie Centers and her husband
Tim, all of Berea, KY, along with several nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart, also survived.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home. Funeral Services
will follow 1 p.m. Thursday, June 5, also at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Pilot Knob Cemetery
in Berea, Pallbearers will be Phillip Clark, George Clark, Leon Clark, Koty Benge, Tommy Benge,
